RENEW YOUR ENGLISH-SPEAKING UNION MEMBERSHIP
ESUMEM-30
The ESU is a membership organisation and educational charity whose work changes lives. We teach young people to speak up for themselves and others, and open their eyes and ears to different cultures and ways of thinking. We give them the confidence to take on new challenges – and the resilience to persevere when things get tough. Through our public speaking and debate programmes and our international scholarships the English-Speaking Union helps young people to achieve and surpass their goals, and to change their lives and communities for the better.
Our life-changing work is made possible by the support of our members and donors.
‘Winning the Public Speaking Competition gave me the confidence I could do things on a national scale.’
Michael Crick, PSC alumnus, broadcaster and author
‘Debating teaches us that in order to be able to formulate your own points, you have to understand and respect other people’s points of view.’
Jonathan, Schools’ Mace 2022 competitor
